I feel like starting a WTF? moment of the day… This is just plain appalling.

Children play. When they play, they shout. When they’re in school, they need breaks. And in breaks, they play. Full stop.

Uninhibited play is pretty damn important for child development. It’s unreasonable to ask a school to reduce noise levels. Yes, having children screaming can be a bit disruptive – but the bottom line is, it’s a school. That’s normal usage.

I’ve been yelled at for playing on the street outside my house (because apparently we were making too much noise) and I was aggrieved at that, but a school playground is set aside for children to play in.
