Mis-marking by AQA

Well, in addition to this, which I reported when I noticed, AQA just failed a bit more. They failed to mark papers properly, affecting about 600 pupils doing A levels, AS levels and GCSEs.

Now, they’re apologising. Unfortunately, sorry doesn’t mend a mistake. And this year, with the massive competition for university places, undershooting by just one grade cost many students a place. It’s now too late. That’s a lot of enforced gap years, or people who’ve now started options that they were not happy with. And for those who are now told, ‘sorry, but we made a mistake, and you got a lower grade than you should have,’ it must be horrendous.
